Let the pastry defrost according to the package instructions. In a bowl, mix the walnuts with the dates, apricots, fruit glace, coconut and cinnamon. Butter an oven tray. Lay out 4-5 buttered filo pastry sheets, one on top of the other. Spread out 1/4 of the filling.
Wrap into a thick roll and place it in the oven tray. Repeat the same process with the remaining pastry sheets and the remaining filling, and make another 3 rolls. Place them next to the previous roll.
Diagonally cut the rolls into pieces and pour over the rest of the butter. Bake the baklava in the oven at 150°-160°C for 90 minutes.
For the syrup
Prepare the syrup as follows: Boil all the ingredients for 10-15 minutes. As soon as you remove the hot baklava from the oven, pour the syrup over. Garnish with almond flakes.
For the syrup
Let the baklava absorb all the syrup and cool down before serving.
For the syrup
Cryssi Zymi Filo Pastry for Desserts is thin like silk, absorbs as much syrup as is necessary and can be handled easily without breaking. Do not cover the baklava to ensure that the filo pastry sheets stay wonderfully crispy.
