Χορτόπιτα με κρεμμυδάκια & τυρί

Prepare the Filling: Heat the olive oil in a pot and sauté the onion, spring onions, leek, and garlic until softened.

 

Add the spinach to the pot and cook until it reduces in volume and releases its moisture. Season with salt and pepper. Make sure the liquid evaporates completely.

 

Add the trachana to the mixture. This will absorb any remaining moisture and add flavor. Stir in the crumbled feta cheese.

 

Assemble the Pie: Open the package of Filo Dough for Pies. Crumple half of the filo sheets and place them in a greased baking dish. Drizzle with plenty of olive oil. Spread the filling evenly over the filo. Crumple the remaining filo sheets and place them on top, drizzle with a bit more olive oil, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

 

Bake the Pie: Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan setting) for approximately 40-50 minutes, or until the pie is golden brown and crispy.
